Antisense oligonucleotides

Antisense oligonucleotides (ASONs) are synthetic DNA oligomers that hybridize to a target RNA in a sequence-specific manner. They have successfully been employed to inhibit gene expression, modulate splicing of a precursor messenger RNA, or inactivate microRNAs.
